jenner Great skirt. Runs a little big.

againstthegrain I bought this skirt in both black and brown to wear on a trip to Italy two summers ago (I don't wear shorts anymore, but wanted to be comfortable in the heat while reasonably "chic" in fashion-conscious Italy). I loved how well the skirt packed and how easily it went with a variety of tops. In the dark color it was easy to dress up a bit with a change of shoes and accessories. I think the skirt is a style that women of many ages can wear with ease.

I haven't worn the skirt in colder weather, so I don't know if the synthetic fabric pairs well with tights or stockings. The fabric is opaque enough I can wear it without a slip in the summer.

The tapered "no-waist" construction and slightly stretchy fabric fits well even when I go up or down a few pounds (sort of "floats" on the upper hips). While I do think the sizes run a bit big (I wear the 6 and I'm usually an 8-10), I do notice the waist is a bit roomier and sits slightly lower than my waist after wearing the skirt all day. I don't usually tuck tops in, either (something to consider when choosing a size).

I wouldn't dry the synthetic fabric in a hot dryer, though - either hang it up to dry or briefly dry in a very low temp dryer. It will dry quickly overnight if you wash it by hand in a sink while traveling.

I wore the skirts so much I bought two more in khaki and stone colors. If it came in other colors that complimented my wardrobe, I'd get more, as they are great everyday skirts for me in the summer. The fabric washes and hangs dry very well and doesn't pill or look worn at all. I get compliments whenever I wear these skirts and never feel uncomfortable or under- or over-dressed.

I'm 5'3" and the hem hits just below my knees - not too short and not too long for my middle-aged legs ;-). The slightly flared bias fabric panel at the hem adds a dash of style and comfort when climbing stairs, getting in and out of taxis/cars, and any time a longer stride is needed. The zip and snap pockets at the side seams and lower hem area are not bulky; they're perfect for secure shopping at outdoor markets without a purse or wallet.

RV Gypsy The skirt is adorable, figure flattering, and can easily be dressed up or down. I LOVE it. It is perfect for travel because it dries quickly and is wrinkle resistant. The pockets are a plus, and they lay nicely flat. The skirt does run large, though. I usually wear a size 6 or 8. I actually bought one of these skirts in a beautiful chocolate brown color years ago in a size 6 (when I tended toward a size 8 in other skirts). It sat lower on my hips then, which I generally like, although now that I've lost a little weight and am tending toward a size 6, I really would like to find this tan skirt in a size 4 so it's not falling off my hips altogether. I will probably also have my brown size 6 taken in because it's such a great skirt.

BikingInNOLA I bought this skirt to have something a comfy and flattering skirt to wear either doing errands or at a business casual affair. As I live in NOLA, it is also good to have summer clothes that handle sweat and heat well. This skirt definitely does all of the above. It is soft and wrinkle resistant, has plenty of pocket space without looking like a bunch of pockets that happen to be clothing, washes easily and well and is a good transition piece of clothing.

This skirt sits on my hips, so it ends around my knees. With its wide hem, it is great for riding a bicycle. The only thing I'd like to see for a skirt that lends itself so much to biking is some sort of shorts underneath as an option. Still, it's a good buy.

Argyle Girl I bought this skirt for work. I love the fact that the length is right at the knee- there is a "flounce" to the hem which makes it feminine for a "cargo" type skirt- one that you could obviously wear on vacation, as it washes up beautifully, has all the right pockets and is stylish enough to wear out for dinner- with a sleeveless blouse and cardigan sweater. I only wish it was available in other colors, as I certainly would purchase them! I wear a 2 or 4, depending on the manufacturer and the 4 fit me perfectly! For the price you can't beat it!

earthtone creations This skirt rocks. I had found it at a famous sporting store and couldn't afford the [$]price tag. I was thrilled to find it on Sierra. I am an all natural girl and never buy clothing that isn't natural fibres, but this skirt caught my eye. It arrived and I have worn it every chance I get. Not only is it comfy, stain resistant(drink a lot of coffee) and wrinkle resistant, it is ubber cute. Hubby loves theway it looks on, always a plus!!

msbigs This is a great work skirt, and I don't feel the need to change out of it as soon as I get home. Very comfortable and washed well - no wrinkles (and I dont iron - perfect match!). THe only problem I had is that the zipper binds a bit when zipping up - perhaps some fabric buildup? And one of the pocket seams has a small pucker. However, becasue of the price, and the tops that I wear, you don't notice the small flaw. Overall the big picture is great!

Anne the traveler I'm not really a skirt person, but bought this for a trip to Asia. It will be cool, yet not as casual as shorts, and can go straight from sight-seeing to dinner. It matches many different tops. I haven't worn it yet, but the fabric seems like it won't wrinkle, and if it shows any dirt, would wash and dry easily. After reading reviews, I did buy a size smaller than normal and it's just right.

Practical Mom I was looking for a skirt with cargo pockets that was cute and that I could wear both around town and while traveling. This fits the bill perfectly. It does run a little big as other reviews suggest, but it's comfortable and adorable. I wish it were in a slightly heavier fabric to wear longer into the fall season, but otherwise, this was a great purchase.
